Village Well — Ethiopia
This village in Ethiopia received safe drinking water because of this well being drilled, one of the multifaceted ministries of CBF field personnel David and Merrie Harding, who served five years in the Middle East before David became CBF’s coordinator for international disaster response. The drink- ing water crisis, extreme poverty and recurring drought in Ethiopia are ongoing disasters that he addresses through the “Water is Life” program. David represents CBF on the Baptist World Aid Committee of the Baptist World Alliance and in the Baptist Relief and Development Network. In Ethiopia, CBF constructs new wells and repairs dilapidated pumps to make clean drinking water available for community use. Access to safe drinking water improves health and saves time and energy particularly for women and girls.
