Serving Our Community
In the gallery above, you will find information about many of the ways we enjoy serving our community. Fernwood’s Missions Ministry Team leads our congregation in support of and involvement in the community, state, nation, and world. If you are looking for a place to serve, please contact our Missions Ministry Team Facilitator or sign-up online for an upcoming Missions Opportunity.
Fernwood also helps to support:
Piedmont Care provides HIV/AIDS care, prevention, and advocacy in Spartanburg, Cherokee, and Union counties of South Carolina. Members of our ministry team provide refreshments for monthly support group meetings. In addition to financial contributions, Fernwood provides a blanket and note of encouragement for all new Piedmont Care clients living with HIV/AIDS. If you are interested in helping provide refreshments for the support group, please contact us.
Hope Center for Children offers a continuum of services that decrease the likelihood of child abuse and that empower children and families. We help to support the Hope Center through our annual budget and by supporting special fellowship activities each year. Each summer, youth from the Hope Center join the youth group of Fernwood to attend summer camp with youth from other Baptist churches of throughout the southeast.
